Sponsor - How Dare You...Oh...Come On Now - Don't Take It Personal?It's a fact so get use to it. Weather you're talking to somebody face to face or over the phone. Putting your agenda first could make you sound desperate and weak to whom ever your talking too. 
Desperate and weak are the two things you don't want to sound like when talking to someone. People are looking for leaders and go-getters, movers and shakers to sign up under. If they get the sense that you are begging for sign ups - then guess what? Your value meter drops to almost zero in their eyes. If this happens then you might as well end the conversation ASAP, because your just wasting your time. Let me try to explain here a little bit. You see, when you have your personal agenda on your mind while you're talking with prospects. Little do you know, you're letting the prospect know that signing them up is your main goal. "Sponsor what are you talking about? Of course signing them up and growing my business are my main concerns. Why wouldn't it be? You better start making sense or I'm clicking away from this site."
Just bare with me here. Let me ask you this question. What helps to fuel your inner drive when it comes to your Multi Level Marketing Affiliate Program? My guess would be your goals and ambitions which would come in a nice 'My Personal Agenda Package.' You sit back and you think about all the reasons why you started your Multi Level Marketing Affiliate Program in the first place. You wonder about how your MLM Online business will eventually give you back control over your life so you can do the things that matter most to you. You think and dream so much, that planning and taking action is not hard to do at this point because you're so fired up from all your daydreaming. So you set out to start making your calls so you can work towards your "I'm going to get at least 2 sign ups today goal." Little do you know, you have already started falling into the rejection zone and you haven't even picked up the phone yet. You must try to understand that your excitement inside your mental state will be projected through your voice. This means that you will be speaking with excitement and enthusiasm. Which in return makes you sound like a hyped up sales call (Big Mistake).
I don't know if you knew this or not...but people hate getting sales calls. I just thought I pass that little bit of information along to you. I know, I know, that the Mr. Excitements of the world told you to make your MLM Online business sound like the greatest opportunity on Earth. But they were wrong. You're not selling a product that people are already excited and open minded about. Your trying to sell the prospect a product about hope and dreams, which is a much harder sell to make. Because guess what, people become very skeptical when you try to tap into their emotions. You are dealing with the hope and dreams that people have. You must understand that in order for you to be able to get this close to the prospect you will have to earn it.
Well I got some more news for you? You're not going to earn that privilege from the prospect trying to tell them about your Multi Level Marketing Affiliate Program and all of the great benefits that it has to offer. Here's another question. For one, did the prospect tell you that the benefits your company has are great or is this your personal opinion? Not only have you made another major mistake by taking the prospect completely out of the conversation. But now you are giving them your opinion on why you think they should join your MLM Online business. The conversation is all about you and your MLM Online business and why you feel it will be a great fit for them (Crash & Burn Maverick - Crash & Burn).
You are doing all of these things naturally of course - why? Because you have your personal agenda on your mind while talking to your prospects. It's your personal agenda that has given you the courage and drive to even make the call in the first place. And it's your personal agenda that is killing your chances to be successful in signing them up. Now that's what I would call a deadly double edge sword. Now don't get me wrong, I know that you have to have goals and a plan of action. But those goals and your plan of action is meant for you only and not your prospect. The goals that you set for yourself should be kept on the wall or in your planner or where ever you decide to write them down at. But before you decide to talk to anyone about your Multi Level Marketing Affiliate Program you'll have to be able to separate your personal agenda from your mind so you don't project it into the conversation that you're having with the prospects. I will go more into this subject on my next post. But in the mean time, remember that you must be able to approach a prospect in a way that is unfamiliar to them. Because the prospect thinks that they have you figured out from the beginning. Because to them all they see you as is another sales call. This is something that you must be able to separate yourself from and it starts with learning how to separate your personal agenda from your business dealings.
